Gear hobbing and shaping

Tasowheel Gears has 12 gear hobbing and shaping machines on the shop floor. In our production, we use both automatic and manual loading, which gives us flexibility for lower volumes and capacity for big series.

One of our latest investments is Liebherr LC-180, which has been taken in use in 2021. The new machine enables a maximum workpiece diameter of 180 millimetres, while the previous acquisition, Liebherr-LC300, manages slightly over 300 millimetres.

Liebherr LC-180 supports dry machining, which is a new, environmentally friendlier alternative to wet machining. Thanks to the latest advances in cutting materials and coating, excellent product quality and higher productivity can now be reached without cutting fluids. This supports also Tasowheel’s efforts for a cleaner and sustainable production.
