Building Sales with an Optimistic Mindset

Since joining Tasowheel just over two years ago, Tommi Lindström has taken on a broad role as Sales Manager and sales team leader. He manages key accounts while leading the power transmission and machining sales team both strategically and operationally.

For Tommi, the working culture at Tasowheel has been an important part of the experience. The resilience of the organization and the willingness to continuously improve have particularly stood out. Above all, he values the people he gets to work with and says his colleagues are a big part of what makes him happy at Tasowheel.

“There are real opportunities to learn and do things differently. I feel this is a place where I want to give my best and help my colleagues, the company and our customers,” Tommi explains.

Another thing that has impressed him is the level of customers Tasowheel works with and the long relationships that have been built with many of them over decades. In his own work, Tommi approaches these relationships with genuine interest in the customer’s business and goals. The aim is to understand the challenges they face and help overcome them by being a reliable technology partner.

Optimism plays an important role in that approach. Tommi describes it as his professional superpower. He tends to see the good in people and trusts that they are doing their best and are willing to learn. This mindset also helps him approach challenges positively and focus on finding a way forward.

Recently, much of his focus has been on strengthening the way the team works and setting a clear direction for the future. This has included creating a new sales strategy together as a team and tailoring the CRM system to better support their day-to-day work.

Along the way, Tommi has also found a growing interest in programming. He has programmed applications to make everyday work easier for the sales team and continues to expand his skills as new ideas come up. “I never knew I had that in me,” he says.

Technology continues to be an area of interest, particularly the possibilities created by AI. But there is another industry especially close to Tommi’s heart: marine. With a strong personal connection to the sea, anything related to the marine industry immediately gets his attention.

And outside of work, Tommi has a rather unusual achievement to his name: he is a rubber boot throwing world champion. 🏆
