Benefits of the New Liebherr LGG 500 Gear Grinding Machine

Our production capabilities have been strengthened with the addition of the Liebherr LGG 500 gear grinding machine. This investment significantly expands our service range, particularly for customers requiring larger and more complex components. We can now process gears with diameters up to 500 mm—a substantial increase from our previous capacity—and accommodate significantly longer shafts. Notably, this 500 mm capacity also applies to automated processes, allowing us to handle larger volumes of substantial components with high efficiency.

The machine is powered by the latest Siemens One control system and the LHGearTec user interface. This modern software environment is more graphical and intuitive than previous systems, providing our operators with clearer insights and more options for customization. Technical improvements, such as smarter workpiece centering and more flexible automatic dressing setup, ensure that we can achieve extreme precision even on the most demanding gear geometries. An integrated tool library for diamond dressers and fixtures further guarantees that setup parameters remain consistent and repeatable.

Operational efficiency and safety were also primary factors in selecting this technology. The LGG 500 features a swiveled tailstock, which allows our team to use a crane when handling the heavy fixtures required for larger parts, streamlining the setup process. Furthermore, the introduction of desktop programming means we can prepare complex jobs on a PC while the machine is busy with another task. For our customers, these advancements translate to shorter lead times, a broader range of available sizes, and the reliable quality expected from Tasowheel’s gear manufacturing.
